Just days before the event, “Spectacular”, produced by Wetty Beatz, peaked at #78 on the Apple Music (All Genres) chart in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Following the competition, the song climbed to #71 on the same chart. The victory propelled the tune across the Caribbean in the days after the competition. On July 7th, “Spectacular” reached #5 on the iTunes (All Genres) chart in Grenada, where it has remained for the past week. On July 8th, the song made its debut on the Saint Kitts & Nevis Apple Music (World) chart, peaking at #38. Over the weekend, “Spectacular” traveled 300 miles north to the British Virgin Islands, where it peaked at #126 on the Apple Music (World) chart.
The victory in one island’s Soca Monarch competition can become the catalyst for widespread enjoyment of the song across the Caribbean, as if it were their own.
