“My Home” Has Become Chapman’s Global Calling Card
On February 15, 2025, in front of a packed crowd in Linden, Diana Chapman claimed the 2025 Guyana Soca Monarch title with her song My Home. Produced by Fraser Recordz Guyana, My Home is Chapman’s homage to the country’s culture and diversity.
It was more than a victory; it was a milestone. Chapman’s appearance and win at this year’s Soca Monarch marked the culmination of more than a decade of persistence. She became the first woman in fifteen years to win the senior category.
Now, My Home has become her digital springboard. While Chapman’s first charting song on Apple Music World was Therapy Whine, which peaked at #23 in Guyana in February 2023, My Home has significantly extended her reach.
Released almost exactly a year ago, the track entered Apple Music in her native Guyana at #190, climbed to #35 during the height of the festival season, and months after the festival ended, found a second life. On September 11 it reached a new high of #33 on Apple Music World in Guyana.
For the first time, Chapman is also charting internationally. On September 17 My Home debuted at #45 on Canada’s iTunes World chart. The momentum has spread through the Caribbean as well: in Saint Lucia the song entered at #165 on September 18 and rose to #55 within days; in St. Kitts & Nevis it peaked at #59 on September 20 after four days on the chart.
This sustained digital activity a year after release reflects a shift. The track is no longer tied only to the festival calendar. Its universal themes are finding resonance in the post-Carnival period, transforming My Home from a Soca Monarch performance piece into a global calling card for Diana Chapman’s sound.
As 2025 draws to a close, Chapman stands at a new threshold. Her history-making Soca Monarch win and the streaming momentum of My Home give her an unprecedented platform to bring Guyana’s stories, rhythms, and voice to the region and the world.
