Gone too soon.
With heavy heart we are reporting on the untimely passing of Dayne ‘G6’ Felix of G6 Productions as he was identified as a homicide victim on Monday, October 9th 2023. The 25-year-old Dennery Segment & Soca producer of St. Joseph, Castries was focused on creating music.
Known for his infectious beats, his recent release the Booster Riddim (June 2023) which featured its namesake Booster with Mooks, Romeo & Megabite and Clap with TopCat was well received in Saint Lucia and beyond. Booster, by all accounts a hit, peaked at #5 on the Apple Music (World) chart in Saint Lucia in August and never left. As of Oct 10th the song was positioned at #8 on the chart. The song also peaked on the Apple Music (World) charts in Antigua & Barbuda, St. Kitts & Nevis and, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – showing the reach of his sound throughout the Caribbean. Booster also generated over 3,500 Spotify streams in just under 4 months, a significant milestone for the up-and-coming producer.
The producers track record shows that he collaborated with a variety of Artists including Freezy, Mata and others – helping to sending his sound far and wide. His track Bad Gyal with Bossla (July 2021) immediately peaked at #2 halfway around the world in Madagascar on Apple Music (Dance). A week later it would peak at #35 in his homeland on Apple Music (Dance) and has since generated nearly 75k Spotify streams. Outside released in June 2022 with BlackBoy, Che Don & J Lucia was not far behind with already 60k Spotify streams. A year later in July 2023 the song peaked at #1 in Switzerland on iTunes (World) – a testament to the song strength that a year after its release, it was still all the way outside! G6 Productions also produced the worldwide hit Fair Sa by Hypasounds (May 2019) with nearly 1m Spotify streams to date, the song also hit the charts in +30 countries on Apple Music & iTunes. There is no doubt his sound has touched the world.
As word on the unexpected and sudden passing of the young talented producer breaks, his fans have taken solace in his music. Tuesday, Plat Atrteh with Prado, which was released in February 2022 has hit the charts for the first time ever, at #49 on Apple Music (World) in Saint Lucia.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Mr. Dayne ‘G6’ Felix. May God grant Dayne ‘G6’ Felix eternal rest.
