Big Dansa Racks up 760K

The Rise of the Big Dansa

In the weeks following Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival season, Dansa—the infectious anthem by Klassik Frescobar—has shifted into high gear.

Back on April 2, we spotlighted Dansa’s breakout moment. It wasn’t a fluke. Since then, the track has racked up over 300,000 additional streams—averaging more than 100,000 per week.

So what’s fueling Dansa’s surge?

TikTok, yes—but more than that, a deliberately engineered campaign. Klassik Frescobar’s team pressed gas on the digital marketing engine, particularly on TikTok, where Klassik commands a following of over 100K that is fueling the Dansa swell with uploads. The phrase “Come show them you a big dansa” has become both a rallying cry and a call to movement—an invitation that transcends geography or Carnival. The opening chant—“Leh we go, leh we go, leh we go”—functions as both anthem and algorithmic bait. And the Spanglish twist—“your waist bilingual”—isn’t just clever; it makes the song borderless.

The data backs the movement.

In the past 30 days, Dansa has generated over 450,000 Spotify streams, powered by Big Dansas on TikTok. Klassik’s monthly listeners in the UK have surged by 930%, making it his top market, with over 30,000 monthly listeners. The Netherlands has quietly stepped into third, trailing only Canada and edging out the U.S., where monthly listeners rose 25% in the same period. Combined, the UK and Netherlands now account for a larger share of Klassik’s Spotify audience than all of North America.

And then there’s Kenya and Nigeria—on both coasts of Africa—where TikTok virality has translated into real traction. Monthly listeners from the continent now make up nearly half of his U.S. base. The global dancefloor has spoken: there are Big Dansas everywhere.

Musically, Dansa was built for this moment. Produced by Boogy Rankss and DJ Kalli, its rhythms are propulsive, its hooks multilingual, and its vibe unmistakably transnational. It doesn’t just speak to Carnival-goers—it speaks to the diaspora, the digital crowd, and the Dansa in all of us.

We’ve tracked Dansa’s streaming trajectory alongside its January 2025 peer group—some of the year’s biggest releases—to contextualize this run.
